Notice - Deadline Date for Accepting of $100 Cotton Note

Retail: Individual customers:

  • First Citizens will accept cotton notes from our individual customers via the regular channels, i.e. over-the-counter at our branches, or at our Branch ATMs, subject to all of our regulatory KYC/AML/CFT requirements, up to midnight on December 31, 2019. We will not accept cotton notes from our retail/individual customers on or from January 2, 2020. Any of our customers who may still wish to deposit or exchange their cotton notes after December 31, 2019, may do so at the CBTT.

 

Please note the following from CBTT:

Individuals who are hospitalized, incapacitated, out of the country, or unable for legal or other demonstrably serious reasons to deposit or exchange the $100 cotton notes should come to the Central Bank with valid identification, proof of address and source of funds, and documentary evidence of inability to convert by December 31, 2019. Persons will be required to sign a form containing a statutory declaration verifying the information provided and attesting that they are aware that they can be prosecuted if they knowingly provide misinformation in order to mislead the Central Bank. Please note that all information provided will be subject to verification and follow up by the law enforcement agencies.

 

Commercial, Corporate and Sole Trader/ ‘Trading As’ customers:

  • First Citizens will accept deposits from our Commercial and Corporate customers on January 2, 2020 and January 3, 2020, subject also to all of our regulatory KYC/AML/CFT requirements.
  • First Citizens will accept deposits via over-the-counter and ATMs, from our Registered Sole Trader/ ‘Trading As’ Account customers on January 2, 2020 and January 3, 2020, subject also to all of our regulatory KYC/AML/CFT requirements.
  • Please note that First Citizens will not accept deposits of the cotton $100 notes from our Commercial/Corporate clients after January 3, 2020.
