First Citizens Unearths Tobago Beauty

Press Release July 20, 2010

The First Citizens Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to the rich and diverse culture of Trinidad and Tobago by supporting the Miss Heritage Personality Pageant.

As a part of the decision to add more value to this investment, First Citizens has championed an initiative to edify the contestants on the environment under its Citizens in Action to Restore the Environment (C.A.R.E) programme.

Over the weekend the 2010 Miss Heritage Personality contestants traded in their makeup and heels for mud and boots as they were taken on a hike through the Tobago Rainforest. The Tobago Rainforest Nature Reserve has been established since 1764 and is the oldest legally protected rainforest in the world.

The team, led by tour guide Junior Thomas, was composed of the Heritage contestants, the co-ordinators and First Citizens representative Dale Mohammed.

The trail, described by the contestants to be full of colour, intriguing noises, beautiful birds and magnificent trees, ended at the base of the Golden Waterfall so named due to the golden colour of the rocks which are the featured attraction in the Rainforest.

First Citizens is proud to be the title sponsor of the Miss Heritage Personality Pageant, one of the premier events on the Tobago Heritage Festival’s calendar. It takes place on Friday 30th July 2010 at the Cyd Gray Pavilion, Roxborough, Tobago.
