First Citizens Awards $10,000 In Undergraduate Uwi Bursaries

First Citizens has awarded Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to students of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, to aid in the pursuit of undergraduate degree programmes.

Ms. Tamara Rampersad and Ms. Nilaja Francis, both of the faculty of Social Sciences and pursuing their Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies were recommended by the University to each receive a First Citizens Bursary valued at Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) based on their academic performance in 2007-2008 and other specific criteria.

In conveying their appreciation to First Citizens, both young ladies said that they were grateful for the bursaries and promised to use the funds wisely, to help cover the cost of educational materials and living expenses.

First Citizens has been sponsoring these bursaries since 1996 as part of its continuous commitment to supporting educational development and empowering young people to achieve their goals. We take this opportunity to publicly wish this year’s recipients every success in completing their programmes and ultimately adding value to our society.
