Redemption Guidelines

Redemption Process

  • Points balance will be shown on cardholder’s monthly credit card statement. To obtain an as at balance, customers can contact the call centre at 62-FIRST or submit a secure message via Online Banking. The cardholder can determine what reward is possible by referring to the rewards schedule for airline tickets.
  • The cardholder submits a written request or a secure message to the Bank, with the date of travel, destination, travel agency, passenger/s name and authorisation to purchase the additional points, where required.
  • The cardholder makes travel arrangements with one of our participating travel agencies, informing them that the ticket will be paid for by First Citizens Vacation Lifestyle MasterCard reward points. The travel itinerary will be issued by the travel agent and submitted to First Citizens.
  • First Citizens advises the agency via written instruction to issue the ticket to the customer.
  • Customer signs the letter and receives the ticket.

Guidelines for Redemption Airline Tickets

  • Points redeemed cover only the base cost and VAT. Any taxes and charges are to be paid by the customer.
  • Airline tickets are to be booked using a participating travel agency and can be on any airline.
  • Airline tickets should be booked and written notice sent to Bank at least 15 business days in advance, subject to availability.
  • Tickets can be Economy or Business Class, either Restricted or Unrestricted, up to the thirty (30) day fare.
  • “Business Class” refers to the next seat class above “Economy Class” tickets, on the airline chosen.
  • Cardholders will be required to pay for upgrades.
  • Tickets are non refundable and non transferable.
  • Cancellation fees are due where applicable.
  • Written instruction will ONLY be issued to the travel agency when both the travel itinerary and authorised letter from the cardholder are received by First Citizens.
  • The redemption process cannot proceed without both documents.
  • Turnaround time for each request is two (2) business days.
  • Date of request receipt via secure message is the date message is received not the date message was sent


  • Points redeemed cover only the base cruise fare. Any taxes, port charges and gratuity are to be paid by the customer.
  • Cruises should be booked at least 90 days in advance and are subject to availability.
  • Basic and ocean view cabins are offered and are subject to availability. Cardholders will be required to pay for upgrades.
  • Cruises do not include airfare, alcoholic beverages, certain brands of soft drinks, land tours, gratuities (tips) and transportation from the airport to the cruise liner.


  • Points are the property of First Citizens Bank Limited and are redeemable only if the account is open.
  • The Bank reserves the right to change the program structure at any time.
  • Account must be in good standing in order to redeem rewards.
